Prophecy is a subject that very few people understand well enough to comment on. To the non-believer scripture says,it is foolishness to those who are perishing. The books of scripture tell us in many places of Jesus' imminent return. As to when, only the Father knows. We are told howerver that we will know the times and the season. As in the days of Noah, so shall the second coming of Lord be. Also, Jesus has said before His ascention, I go to prepare a place for you that there you will be with me. We live in very interesting times as religious people have tried to pinpoint the hour of His return and failed. We, the followers of Christ, are told to be ready for He will, come as a thief in the night. Put another way He will come when we don't expect. The times we live in are some of the worst, globally speaking, ever seen. There is so much war, famine, death from disease, lawlessness, evil being called good, a great falling away (people turning away from relationship with Christ) a general malcontent amongst people, searching for self pleasure. Politically speaking, the EU is now, because of the recent financial crisis, trying to form a single monetary system as well as a political one. This is setting the stage for a unilateral one world system. People just see it as a good move to provide stability in a rather unstable economic and political forum. Jesus said that, this world will unite under anti-christ. Some Christians and non-Christinas don't believe it and well, that's up to them. As for ME and MY house, we will serve the Lord

If you believe Jesus will still return one day, the Bible is obviously not a good place to find answers about it. The people who wrote the earliest books of the NT believed Jesus would return within their lifetime. Later books, like John, were written as a reaction to disappointment that he did not. And the book of Revelations was written about events that occurred not long after Jesus is said to have lived.

So other than a few vague signs and predictions attributed to Jesus himself, which obviously never came true, there is no Biblical basis for believing in Jesus' return, especially over 2000 years later.

Considering how hard all the fundamentalist christians have been working to protect Israel you would think it was soon.
Suddenly they are all in love with the jews and Israel.
Lol. I guess they think we are too dumb to know that they want us in place so that we can die upon his return and they will go to heaven where they will be able to pet lions and walk on streets of gold, etc.
lol. nice story.

Not even Jesus knew when the father would send him back. There was however a prophecy in the bible that could be interpreted as shortly after Isreal becoming a nation. But keep in mind Gods concept of a short time is longer then our lifespan.

The bible says in Matthew 24:36 No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. I know that does not help much but the book of Daniel will give you a little more answers and so will the book of Matthew. If you are truly seeking the answers.

The books of scripture tell us in many places of Jesus' imminent return.

Yeah, that's because the guys who wrote it thought it would be imminent. Obviously, it wasn't.

We live in very interesting times as religious people have tried to pinpoint the hour of His return and failed.

It makes one wonder why they keep trying. Oh yeah that's right...it's a lucrative business.

Put another way He will come when we don't expect.

Every generation has expected the return of Jesus. Every single one.

The times we live in are some of the worst, globally speaking, ever seen. There is so much war, famine, death from disease, lawlessness, evil being called good, a great falling away (people turning away from relationship with Christ) a general malcontent amongst people, searching for self pleasure.

You could make that statement about any period in human history. I would argue the Fourteenth Century was much, much worse than the time we live in now: More war, more disease, more famine, more lawlessness, and many people turning away from religion...

Politically speaking, the EU is now, because of the recent financial crisis, trying to form a single monetary system as well as a political one. This is setting the stage for a unilateral one world system.

No, it isn't. What's being done in Europe isn't going to be repeated anywhere else, at least not in our life time. But more important than that, Europe is running into stumbling block after stumbling block on its road to monetary and political unification. Many people hate it, and are fighting it, with varied success.

Jesus said that, this world will unite under anti-christ.

Where does Jesus talk about the anti-Christ?

The people who wrote the earliest books of the NT believed Jesus would return within their lifetime.

religionisgood, that was referring to the abomination of desolation(The destruction of Jerusalem) not the coming of christ. This had already took place 40 years after Jesus died and you can read about it in a book outside of the Bible in Josephus.

Many people do believe that Jesus was referring to his return but he was not.

If you interested in this message me. I will be happy to explain.

THIS CONTAINS ANSWER TO WHEN JESUS IS WILL RETURN!! READ BELOW!!

Also religionisgood is right.

Jesus doesn't say anything about an anti-Christ or a rapture and the 7 years thing...

It's all BS.

You need to read the Bible for yourself rather then listening to everyone else.

When Jesus returns the word we be over flowing with Christians and as most of you see we are a long way from that.

(Psalm 110:1)

The LORD said unto my lord, Sit thou at my right hand until
I make thine enemies thy footstool.

Jesus is sitting on the throne right now. He will not get up and return to the people until all his enemies are defeated.

Who are his enemies you ask. Well after Jesus death he was sent to hell for three days. While he was in hell he took the keys to hell from Satan.

Satan is now defeated and awaiting to go into eternal punishment. Basically wondering here on earth on parole.

So the only enemies of Christ that are left are the unbelievers.

How do you defeat an enemie of Christ? You witness to them and pray that the will except Gods word into there hearts.

Once the last enemy is won over, who is written in the lambs book of life, then Jesus with get off his throne and return.

Will there be unbelievers still on earth at his return? Yes., and they will receive there punishment in full.

No second chances, no anti-Christ or rapture and no 7 years thing.

We will know when he is here because a loud trumpet blast will be heard and Jesus descending will be recorded on every News station in the world.

You're referring to the book of Revelations, not the Gospels.

You can expect someone but you don't know when they show up

Sneaking up like a thief in the night is hard to do if everyone's expecting said thief happy

The abomination of desolation is recorded in the Gospels not Revelations. I'm trying to prove that the Gospels are not speaking about the end times. What he is speaking about in the gospels has already happened.

In Luke 21:5-31, Matt 24:1-35, and Mark 13:1-31 he speaks signs of the end of the age. What he is speaking about the end of the old testament practices and the abomination of desolation (punishment of Jerusalem for denying the Christ) NOT THE END OF THE WORD. I'd suggest reading Josephus. I'm sure you'll like it but also keep Luke 21:5-31, Matt 24:1-35, and Mark 13:1-31 in mind when reading it.
