you dont tell them anything unless your willing to lose a friend. Ex's of friends are off bounds no matter what, its just the rules and its not fair to your friend. As you said its just a crush you have and it will prob go away, so unless you are both willing to be together right now, id keep my feelings to myself and not cause any unesessary dramas.

you just sit them down and let them know nicely, and make sure you tell tell them that you can't help what you feel.
