How can i be a vet asap?

What does it take to be a vet as soon as possible or when I'm still in high school?

that depends on if you just wanna work there, or actually be a vet. to just work there go apply for a job, so that you can get some hand on experience. but to actualy be certified, it requires at least a bacherlors degree in animal medicine, so quite a few years of study.

Becoming a vet is not something you can just do on the side...it's a career. It's a very challenging career at that.

First, you have to attend a regular 4-year college program. You should major in veterinary medicine or if that's not offered, biology or biochemistry.

AFTER college, you have to attend a veterinary school. There are 27 accredited vet schools in the US. This is ANOTHER 4 years to get your D.V.M. (Doctor in Veterinary Medicine) degree.

THEN, you have to pass the North American Veterinary Licensing Exam for your veterinary license.

Finally, each state has an exam you have to take in order to practice vet medicine in the state.

That's 8 years of school and at least two huge exams.
