How do I ask questions to freinds?

You can click the 'ask me a question link' on their profile page, however, unless it's something that anybody could answer, it's better to post a comment on their profile or send them a fun mail via the upper left hand link on their profile page (above the ask me a question ilnk). Fun mail is our local private messaging system.
