Can I change my nose ring?

Question: I got my nose pierced about a month ago and want to change my nose ring into a stud. I noticed that the original nose ring I got pierced with is thicker than the stud I bought… The stud I bought has a ball at the end. Is it okay to change it or should I wait untill its fully healed??? Will the hole get smaller if I wear the thiner ring ??? Will I still be able to take the nose ring out even with a ball at the end???

I had serious probs with my nose ring healing…I got one of those keloid tumors. after removing the excess cartilidge in the tumor…OUCH!!! I replaced my thick gage with one like you are talking about. it healed beautifully but…bad news…now the hole is smaller and I cant get it out! I am ok with not changing it…so I just keep it clean and wear it alll the time. when I do decide to take it out to change it, I am going to have to use heavy duty wire cutters to cut the ball off the top of the stud and then pull it out through the inside. if you dont want to go through all of this…just leave yours in for about another month or so…then take your stud out daily for cleaning so the hole doesnt grow in on it. good luck!

I got my nose pierced about a month ago, and the ring its pierced with has a hook and I absolutly hate it. I have changed my ring probably 4 times already to a stud with a ball at the end of it like you said you have. It does NOT hurt to put in or take out no matter how long you have your nose pierced. I personally love the studs with the balls on the end of it. However if you really think its going to hurt that bad, just wait a few more weeks. But it really isnt a big deal.

I wouldn’t change it to one with a ball at the end, it will hurt a bit because your nose ring is just healing. Go and get a ring that doesn’t have a ball at the end and you’ll be okay to change it. I’ve had mine for years and the ones with the ball still hurts to put in.

Answer #4

yeah it’ll get thinner, and if you get the nose ring in there with a stud at the end, it’ll be like practically impossible to get it out without ripping half your nose off.

Answer #5

Yes your while will get smaller Just get a stud that is thicker im sure there is one out there

Answer #6

Answer #7

I’ve had my nose pierced for 1 month and I really want to change it, the stud I have in now is thick and I want to change it to a corkscrew stud, the one I have in now is a straight post with a sharp pointy end on it. Can I change it to a corkscrew?
