hi!
my chiuwawa has recently gotten 2 fractured ribs. I was wonderin if anyone could tell me any tips about caring for him and how long it will take for it to heal.

If you already took him to the vet, then your vet would have told you what you needed to do and would have already answered these questions, before you brought your dog home! Call your vet back and ask him or her! Your vet knows what your dogs situation is, better than anyone here does and would be the best person to ask! How did your Chihuahua break it's ribs?

As with people it takes a while for ribs to heal...and they are VERY painful. Also, as with people...there is little that can be done medically...Keep him quiet...leash walks...no rough housing...
