of money due to being unemployed, but I don't want to give her a crappy gift. My boyfriend might help out with the money. But can you give me some ideas? The bride groom are 21 years old. I don't know them that well which is why I am having trouble. What's a safe gift to get?

Anything that is on their registry is usually a safe bet. I've bought several wedding gifts recently (all my friends seem to think they need to get married) and have usually been able to find something fun on their registry within my budget. It can also be fun to add little stuff to it - I bought a cake pan and spatula and kitchen towels that were on one girl's registry...so I also bought her some cake mixes and frosting and sprinkles to make in the pan. It gave it a personal touch without breaking the bank.
