personally, I would say. do you want to? if you want to, then yes. but remember that it is a TV programme and you may be open to critisism, I would want you to feel angry towards your grandad for trying to do something like that.

you didn't say if he had done the forms for you or for him? I'm assuming they were for him...

either way, standing up in front of all those people can be very intimidating, and with you being so close to your grandad it may make you very emotional to be standing there. it's a personal choice thing hunny, I too was very very close to my grandad, and 16 years after he dies I still think of him very fondly, he was like a 2nd dad to me.

just think about it first, I love singing and everything, but standing in front of 100'a of people will be very frightening, which as I say is a hugely emotive thing, plus with the memories of your grandad could just prove a little too much.

I'm not being negative, I am being realistic. it would be lovely to say 'yes do it he would be so proud' but as a mum myself, if my children ever did anything for me that resulted in them being embarresed or worried about, I would hate it that they felt obligated to do it.

as I say, if your comfortable standing in front of lots of people, doing whatever it is you're going to do, then fab - go for it. but please don't do anything your not sure about.
what would you do anyway? any ideas?

good luck!

1. im so sorry about your loss :[ I really am truly sorry
2. you should definitly go on the show to make your grandad proud, and yourself proud. I know you will do great because you are motivated from good things, besides what to you have to lose? and remember never let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game.
