Tea in moderation is great for vocalists, but make sure you're drinking decaffeinated. Any beverage with caffeine will dry out your vocal chords, which may contribute to the strain you're feeling.

Herbal teas are great, but don't drink them too hot - they'll swell your vocal chords. A little lemon OR honey will help as well. Together, they sort of cancel each other out; honey being used to coat and lubricate the vocal folds, and the acidity of the lemon cutting right through it.

your best bet is water before rehearsing or performing. If you're concerned with your vocal health, try zinc lozenges or elder root lozenges, but be careful, as both of these can make you quite nauseated if taken on an empty stomach

whatever you do decide to drink, plese do not make it milk, it tends to coat your throat and make the vibrations from the larnyx and pharnyx not as clear or distinctive as in reaching high notes.
God Bless
