like

2x=4 ; you would divide because the variable (x) is next t other number(2), which means multiply-to solve, you do the opposite of multiplication, which is dividing.
answer; x=2

if its like

x
-- = 9;
3

you would mulitply the denominator (3) by itself to get rid of it, and what you do to one side you must do to the other, so you multiply 9x3; answer: x=27

if it is a fraction like

9/3 divided by 3/2 then you switch the three and the 2 around so the second fraction
looks upside down, then you multiply the 9x2 then that is your numerater and multiply 3x2 and that is your denominator. That is how you use multiplication to divide fractions
