NO, not right. who cares how tall he is? it doesn't matter what anyone says about the person you have a crush on, because he's YOUR crush and you're opinion is the only one that matters. to hell with your friends, they're just jealous because you're prettier than them.

If you really like him, you should go for it! Your friends think he is annoying, who cares, you like him right?! If they were saying worse things, they might have a point, but they aren't so do what you want to!
