Should I make the first move with my friend?

Ok so I have this friend and we have been friends for like 4 years now and we have been talking and I think I really like him and I think he likes me too but I dont know if I should make the first move and I feel like I can tell him anything but this does anyone have good advice!!!???

tell to him that you like him but tell it as a joke,that wud make you comfortable with the situation...thn you will be the judge for his reaction...
