Heart-broken

I just broke up wit my boyfriend because he stated this thing called [pledging] he cant have any relations with a girl for a month and he says he cant tell me what else he has to do because he wouldnt be able to be in it. He says he loves me and wants to...

get back together with me after this month but I don't know what to do!!!

I mean if he reslly loved me why would he do this [he did say its sumthing he wanted for a long time and he finnaly got the oppurtinity so hes taking it]...but still im missing him so much and now were just friends and he talks about other females to me??? I don't want to use reverse phycology because I care for him too much to make him feel the same way he makes me feel
Please help I dunno what to do should I get back with him in january or...?

maybe it is his way of letting you down gently, so by staying your friend you can adjust to life without his as your b.f. that could be totally wrong.

or,

he says its something he's always wanted to do and now that he is in a relationship wants to prove to himself he can do this? it doesn't mean he doesn't care, so you should respect that he wants to do it. plus he says he wants to get back with you in january... then it will be worth the wait.

you need to think carefully about your relationship as to which of these opinions may be the reason, or it could be something else... you need to think, had he been distant recently? or were you both totally in love? did he talk about other girls before? or is it just recently? only you know how the relationship was, so just take some time to think and hopefully you will come to the right conclusion.
