I am a 5'8" 46 yr. old man. I have been active in sports, working out with personal trainers etc all of my life... However, the last 6 years. I haven't played any sports or worked out @ a gym... I have moved to the USA (WV) about 6 or so years. ago and my life has changed dramatically... New marrage ,a five yr. old son and now a two week old little girl... I tip the scales @ 190lbs...

As I said , I was active in sports all of my life and boxed professionally up until I turned about 28yrs. old... However, continued to play rec. sports and lifted up until 6 years. or so ago...Needless to say my body has received a major shock...

Two weeks ago I started a diet that consistes of only greens, cucumber, red/green peppers(no dressing) etc., fish, chicken or beef... My breakfast consistes of cherios and a banana...

Sorry for the long winded question...

What should I weigh?...

Thank-you...

Fred

I just popped on a site and put your age and height into a calcualtor for a male and it came up with 171lbs. So thats 19 lbs to lose... put my own details in and and I've got 27lbs to lose aghhh

Try to keep to white meat, pleanty of veg, fruit, fibre, low fat, moderate carbs, plenty of water, combine with some exercise, even just some walking or skipping, doesn't have to be the gym. Try to eat breakfast as it boosts your metabolism, 3 meals a day, and limited alcohol. Try a breakfast cereal like bran flakes and semi skimmed milk, sugar.

But remember as you get older its harder to lose the weight and even when you do your body fat distribution is different than it was 5 - 10 years ago. Skin isn't so taught etc, so your shape will be different to what it used to be. Don't you just love getting old. Oh I'm nearly 48 by the way.

One day I will listen to my own advice.

Good Luck

Thanx for the reply...I am down to 179lbs...walking/jogging like a wild man... I have been eating red meat, however I will give it a try to stick to white meat...tons of veggies, fruit etc...

I drink so much water I feel like I am floating 85% of the time... Feeling pretty good...

Thanx again and good luck...
