How to use a tampon?

I've wanted to use tampons..and I've tried before but it wouldnt go in and I dont know how to use them..please tell me how to use them

Put one foot on a chair or the toliet
Relax and take your time
Now take your hand and spread your vagina lips apart
If your using a tampon with an applicator make sure the string is hanging outside the barrel
Hold the applicator and place your index finger at the end of the applicator (the part where the string is hanging out)
Insert into your vagina and push towards your rectum (like push towards your back not really upwards)...Lubricating the tampon with a water based lubricant can help to make insertion easier
Stop pushing when your finger meets your vagina or when you cant feel the tampon in you

That should do it

Try using a mirror. I haven't done it, I'm too afraid, but kudos! I've heard using a mirror to locate everything is helpful, so hope this helps!
