Ugh- sadly yes!
We met in an IRC channel we both frequented. We got along really well, he was quite the charmer without being creepy, and we regularly chatted and skyped. We both had crushes on each other, but we accepted the reality that we were a world apart (him in Norway, me in NZ). We talked it out, and while we were crazy about each other, we decided it was more logical to just stay friends. If we met up one day in the future, we'd see what happened, but we should just get on with our lives for now.
It's been 2 and a half years since then, and both of us have gotten married to different people. We're still really good friends though, and I'm glad we had the maturity to realise that the chance of us meeting up was slim to nil, so we decided not to dwell on it. Call me a cynic if you like, but I like to think realistically.
I'd say so. But most likely you'd say it was infatuation.
:P
Met online. Gotten to know each other for more than a year. Just online and phone. Meant so much to mee
Left once before.. came back saying he couldnt do it without me. Continued talking. Still meant a lot to me. Just one day he decided it wasn't going to happen between us. So he left.
Til this day.. I still think of him.
Is is love?
I can't get over him.
It was a whole year. That's a pretty long time to get to know each other..
*sigh*
Ha.. how about you BigMuma?
Awww you guys it is so easy to fall for people you meet online because I think that for women esp conversation is somthing that is put in second place in a relationship after sexual things. You meet someone online and share your life stories and find similarities to your lives. Thats prob where it ends though because unless you meet someone in real life it would be hard to judge wether you could actually be around them all the time. Computer conversations are usually not that long and you get straight to the point quickly. You can also say anything you want over the net because its not like your going to meet them. Most people are real on the net but a lot arnt who they say they are. Unless you have a mind reader friend then your a bit scr*wed lol .
Yes I have we met online and then about 4 months after talking online and the phone we met at a mall and I brought a friend and so did he. We ended up going out we went out for a year and 3 months. We are on a little break right now because he is in the National Gaurd and has boot camp all summer but when he gets back we plan on getting back together. I thought it was nice to meet someone new and realize we had so much in common. He became my best friend. He is an amazing person and we were just both looking for the same thing. That one special person.
