Have you ever been to alcatraz in san francisco, ca?

We went to visit the famous prison island, Alcatraz, about two years ago with my family. I think all the movies made it seem more interesting, as things like the rock with Nicholas Cage was filmed there, etc. The history was kind of interesting but all...

in all, I think it was a great day for the weather, but the actual prison tour was creepy strange, at best.

What do you think of Alcatraz island tours, if you've taken one?

I didn't visit that place before but after I saw the pic that you upload it here I think I would like to visit this place oneday.

Hey thedude, im in Aust and where I am we have a local jail - Maitland jail, listed as one of the top ten haunted places in Australia. Its also where they housed one of the most well known serial killers of here in Australia Ivan Milat. It has a lot of hype like that of alcatraz.
I was all excited when I got there but it wasn't half as creepy as I thought. I think the hype and publicity of these prisons along side the history is what made it most interesting for me.

I have not been there but I have seen many videos and photos.I thin it's lovely place,and I'll go there next summer!

I used to live in Oakland, CA., and saw (from a distance) the Rock many times. Being from Chicago and knowing the history of Alcatraz I have not got a desire to visit that state park.
There are to many ghosts out there and I don't want them to get me he said with tongue in cheek?
Really rather go to Yellowstone Park where Mother Nature is the Warden.

I havent been there but its deffinately on my list!
