Has the 'facebook' fad ended?

a snippet of me ;) Asked by sooitca about 1 year ago, 9 answers.

I love facebook, well actually I love the games lol!

But I have some friends that I talk to, and others I don't, so I 'prune' my faceboo tree.

Does anyone else get p'd off with people that have 100's of 'friends' and you know they never speak to them?...

I chop off people who I don't speak to...and I know people that 'add' friends for the sake of increasing their 'online populatry...wth is that all about?!!!

What do you do? Are you an 'adder' to increase your numbers? Or do you thn that the 'friends' section should only be for actual 'friends'?

oh my god! really? it started in the states, it's like a much better friends reunited, but you catch up and keep in contact with current or old friends...

as I say started in usa by guy who wanted to give a central online community to unis, schools etc, but it's now extended to almost eveything... can't believe that someting started in ISA has become so popular in UK!

I personally feel the same as you do. I have seen people's profiles that list an outrageious number of friends. I only have 9 friends on mine, and that is plenty for me.

I also enjoy the games lol! Most of the time that I am on the site all I do is play the games. I use facebook to keep in touch with friends that live to far away to be able to see very much. That way we each know what is happening with each other.

I think that people that add as many friends as possible just to look popular must be pretty pathetic. Who really cares how many friends that someone has. To me it is the quality of the friendships and not the quantity that really matters.

I feel the same way. I talk to all of my friends on Facebook I do have 84 I think but they are mostly family so I can keep in touch with and my old friends from my old neighborhood. I don't see the point in just adding random people when you know you won't talk to them haha.

I'm just friends with people I know, graduated high school with, or will go to college with. I do have like 5 people I'm friends with that I don't even know.
People add as many friends as they want probably to feel good about themselves, popularity, or just cause they feel like it.

I don't really send requests but if someone adds me who is from my school then I'll accept their request. I only send requests to people I know but if someone from like turkey tries to add me, which I have gotten before, then I ignore it. but for the most part if they're from my school then I have no problem with adding them.
