Hair falling out... at 14?

Asked by atomicreload 11 months ago, 13 answers.

My girlfriend's hair is coming out!!! Not in clumps but after just getting a hug I would find a hair of hers on my shoulder. She does have some stress at the moment but I don't think it would make her hair come out.. would it?

The truth is, a certain amount of hair loss is normal (anywhere from 50–100 strands per day), but excessive hair loss and hair thinning indicates that something is not right.

stress is a factor. I know, people are always confused by this, but stress is a key factor to hair loss. does she wear it up often? sometimes if you wear your hair up really tight or use certain types of hair clips hair could fall out.

It might be that her diet is out of whack. she has been going on these weird dorito binges, like 2-3 fairly large bags occasionally for lunch. Now I kind of want to know how I can respectfully bring it up please?

I am constantly finding my hair EVERYWHERE! I'm pretty sure it's normal, I mean, I'm far from bald! lol It's been like that since I can remember. I eat fine and I'm completely healthy, it just falls out. Maybe the longer the hair the more it comes out...or maybe it's just more noticeable. I don't know, but I'm sure there's nothing to worry about unless it's handfuls at a time!

people can lose their hair from stress unfortuneately
or it can also be that she doesnt brush her hair enough
but it is usually normal to shed a little hair
no big worries unless she is really stressed out

Although it is normal to lose hair, she might be low in vitamins, and should take a multi vitamin. Many times being low on iron can cause a person to lose more hair than average. Just something to check into. She could start eating more vitamin enriched foods, or take a multivitamin to get better nutrition.

Well she could be bulimic or anerexic...because you lose A lot of hair when you have it...like a lot of people said above...she might not be eating right...maybe she has an eating disorder.
