Hair disaster

Asked by gg201192 6 months ago, 4 answers.

Im 16 years old and when I was 13 I had natural mid/dark blonde hair and from that age I used to highlght it with lighter blonde highlights. That was until I was about 15 then I dyed it mid brown. But since I've been doing that after every time I dyeed...

it the colour faded quite fast and went a coppery colour :s and now I cant even dye it light brown because the clour wont take over the coppery ginger colour. My goal is to go dark blonde all over then have highlights put through but the light brown dye wont take. What do you think I should do ? Should I havw the blonde highlights on top of the coppery colour and keep having that done or should I do something else? What do you think? I really need advice thank you x

After coloring your hair for so long, the damage builds up and can cause the cuticle to stay open. Normally when you color your hair the cuticle opens to let color in and then closes and that's what holds the color in. With the cuticle damaged it bleeds out. You can't fix this, just like anything else, once it's dead...it's dead.
Use a good conditioner for a while and trim it every 6-8 wks. Or if you're feeling brave have all of the dead stuff cut off, then you can start all over.

I think you should try letting the copper color grow out and just have your natural color(it sounds pretty) with maybe just some blond highlights too it may take a little while to grow out but I think it would be worth it. but its up to you ;-)

sounds like your hair is lettin you know that it needs a break.

let it grown out..if you dont like the color you got now..dye it to your original color..or darker
and trim, and let your hair grow out.

yes your hair has ways in tellin you when it needs a rest or a break from
all the styling and damage. and right now it seems thats what its doing to you.

good luck.
