Hey someone else asked a similar question earlier so I just cut and paste my answer let me know if you need more info

unfortunately your hair will have to go through many stages to get to blonde have a look at my wedding photos and you can see how light my hair is (its not natural but shhh dont tell anyone hehe)

for a whole head of blonde what happens is your hair will need to be stripped of the natural pigments of colour. Firstly it will go orange with the first application. then with a second application a yellowy blonde then finally with another application the platinum colour you want. from my experiences you are better to either go to a salon and gt them to use a special peroxide which not leave any yellowie colour in your hair a lot of the dyes you buy in the shops for home treatment will still leave a yellowie tint and will damage your hair. ( even though a level of damage is something you wont be able to avoid but you can lessen the damage at a salon) If you are to do it at home it can take some time and probably about 4 months before you get to the stage you want. They recommend you wait some time between applications to help reduce damage.

I always found that no matter what I did even at certain salons I ended up with a yellowie tinge in my hair until I went to a salon just before my wedding the hairdresser explained to me that this was a new type of paroxide which reduced the yellowie tinge you can see how my hair has a silvery platnium tinge which I love. You can also get a silver toned rinse put over your hair if you end up with a yellowish tinge.

The other thing is if you decide you want to do it at home no matter what go to a shop like one that sells salon products to the public and explain what you want to do and they can offer you a peroxide that may be less damaging and work better then that you buy at the supermarket such as the loreal products etc.

Good luck
