well of course it is based on genetics. Okay your hair follicle has a certain 'life' , when you are African American the life of the hair follicle is short so therefore the strand of hair falls out when the follicle dies, when you are Caucasian the follicle's life is longer therefore the hair can grow longer. This is why you see African Americans with short hair and Caucasian, Asian, Latinas etc. with longer hair. So it does not mean if you have curly hair you hair will not grow it depends on how much of one race you have in your blood.
Hope I helped!
sad princess
that's not true
Most African Americans have short due to the weak state their hair in from being chemically and thermally over processed. This causes damage and the hair to break off causing short hair. Those who take care of their hair properly have long hair just like Hispanics and Caucasians. You also failed to address the fact that an African Americans hair is a lot harder to take care of then Caucasians, Hispanics, and Asians and so many cut their hair short for an easier hair style.

Is hair length based on genetics?
