why not spike it up with gel? or pull it over to one side?
or put a wash through tone or colouring through it. if you get a non or semi-permanant then if you dont like it your not stuck with it til it grows out!

Many people in these days are wearing head bands in there hair. Head bands work for long or short hair and when you have your hair up or down. There is fabric and plastic. You can have a thin or large headband and some stretch to keep your bangs, if you have any, and fly away hair in place and back from your face. Maybe try something different with it, just use some gel or somethign spike it and try somethinf different, and just dont be afraid to experiment with it til you find it how yuo really like it.
