actually it depends entirely on where your playing. if your playing lower down the fret board, your gonna need more pressure to produce a nice clean sound. However, higher up the fret board, sayyy fret 10 and up, you really only need rest your finger on the board to make a nice sound, literally no pressure at all.
a good way to gauge would be to find a short riff you can keep playing that is higher up the fret board and reduce the amount of pressure each time through to see how light you can go. Really helpful for playing faster solos if you press very lightly

When you put your fingers on the frets , are you supposed to press hard or gently touch them? Please help
