The ice people great but sad book about true love through the ages. it's also sci-fi. and I mean real sci-fi. not the crap that you see in Borders with almost naked women holding big guns on the cover.

Looking for Alaska was really good. It's mostly about how this kid with really no life or friends goes to boarding school and he gets into this group who drinks etc...

Speak - Laurie Halse Anderson... it's about this girl who got date-raped. it sounds awful but it's really an amazing book. or pretty much ANYTHING by Sarah Dessen. :]
