Going blonde

I would like to dye my hair blonde for the summer but I don't know how to go about it. My natural colour is brown but as I've used permanent hair dye before it is now a reddish borwn colour. Do I need to get this permanent colour stripped before I get highlights or bleach my hair? What is the best way to go blonde?

I just went BLEACH blonde, from dark brown as well. Heres the thing, the process is extremely unhealthy for your hair. But if your willing to take care of it afterwards, then go for it. My best advice is, the night before your ready to dye it, leave conditioner in it ALL night. To dye it, go to sallys, and get a bleach with a BLUE base. this dosnt turn your hair blue, but it counteracts orange color. Just ask them for a bleach with a blue base, and they will know what your talking about. You might have to do this about 5 times... then it should be blonde. CONDITION CONDITION CONDITION!!!

just start putting blond highlights in your hair. you shouldnt need to get it stripped. =]
