God never answered my prayers!

wintr leavs Asked by dirrtydozen22 9 months ago, 26 answers.

I prayed for just about everything I could think of. My very first prayer was for a house and a car. I prayed for God to make that girl in college like me and she still refused to. I ended up kicked off campus for constant anger outbursts. Back in high...

school, I prayed for a more successful high school career and I still got restricted to mostly online courses because I couldn't govern my temper in class. I kept praying God change my parents into letting me have my way but they don't. Lastly, I prayed for God to not let me get canned from Wal-Mart, but I got canned anyway. I verbally abused a coworker who pissed me off and a few days later, punched the fitting room pole and banged my head into it in front of customers. I prayed for God to make my coworker admit she's wrong and apologize but she didn't, hence the physical violence.

He only answered 3 prayers in my life. One of them was to get a certain person to 4give me for talking bad about her (unknowingly.) The others aren't as important. God won't even answer prayer to change myself. I prayed once to God for me to stop throwing tantrums over every little thing and 2 days later, I'm having a fit where I throw stuff and curse someone out. Wouldn't it be nice if He answered every single prayers?

Hmmm, please don't get angry... but have you tried praying from other people and not just yourself? Maybe it's God's purpose for you to learn from your own mistakes, and become a better, happier person that way.

And there are so many people out there, suffering from war, from famine and other catastrophes. Why not try a prayer for them?

God said in His word that He does answer every prayer, although not in the manner we see fit. He doesn't give us what we want but rather what we need. God is not just a vending machine that we go to, to get what we want from Him. He wants us to be dependent on Him yes, but not just because of what He does, but more on who He is. He loves you and wants to and has blessed you in so many ways if you'd just take the time to look. I know that there is much pain and suffering in your life right now and I also know it's not easy to deal with. God may seem distant but is closer than you may think. Many places in the bible will help explain this for you. If you want the chapter and verse just ask.
As far as the anger issue goes, it sounds like there is a larger problem than just you not getting your way. There are places and groups for people who struggle with this issue and it may help.

Hun let me tell you... God dont answer prayers right away. Plus everything you ask for in prayer is in his timing not yours.

God works in mysterious ways because he know our hearts.
He knows us better than we know ourselves.

Maybe that girl is not for you. We cant have everyone we want. If that was the case Brad Pitt would be my husband.

You have anger issues and maybe thats why everything is going wrong for you,
My husband had major anger issues and the only way it went away was when he gave his life to Christ.

Besides, its good if you pray for others also.

Maybe there is a God but He doesn't answer prayers. God can't discriminate. Can you imagine the soldiers of two opposing armies all praying for God's protection? How could God, a loving Father decide who was to die and who was to live?

Prayer is meant to allow you to tune your self and being into actions that will help you attain your goals by YOUR actions.

In your case, it looks like your life completely revolves around YOU, YOU, YOU. Maybe if you would be less concerned with adapting the world to you and more concerned with adapting yourself to the world, you would find that you are happier and more successful.

Be more concerned with the welfare of others and your welfare will start taking care of itself. Be POSITIVE. Go WITH life instead of fighting against it.

If you look for the Silver Lining (the positive) and discard the negative, you will find a more beautiful and satisfying world and life.

If there was a god, he wouldn't fix all your problems like that. If praying to god could just make you a different person, psychologists and doctors would be out of business. God can't fix your problems, but if you believe in him, then he can guide you through them. A wise man once said, I can only show you the door- it is up to YOU to walk through it.

This is like complaining at Santa.
Take care of your problems yourself, a magical made up entity won't fix them for you.

lol...No one IMAGINARY OR REAL is going to be able to help you except yourself.

You have anger problems. You're hoping for miracles which is why you turned to religion. It doesn't work like that.

God in His infinite wisdom either says no, yes, or 'not yet' - His time is not our time, His thoughts are not our thoughts - your cursing indicates you're not making an effort to be close to Him - you think that pleases Him ?...you're in my thoughts and prayers.

***God never answered my prayers!***
***He only answered 3 prayers in my life.***

...hmmm... contradictory...

From a theistic view... God ALWAYS answers. But its not necessarily the answer you WANT.

Answer #1 - YES
Answer #2 - NO
Answer #3 - NOT NOW

...actually... regardless of your spiritual beliefs... there ARE no other possible outcomes besides those three.

Also, it seems that out of all the prayers you mentioned, all but ONE had to do with some form of personal gain (material possessions, having your way, etc.)

If you're in the praying mood, why not ask God to open the door to show you a way to control your temper?? (it might be self-serving in a way, but it would benefit others as well)...should he answer that one, many of your past problems won't be back around to haunt you...

No, I would prefer to have a relationship with a guy and a friendship with girls. Anyway, I'm completely over her and all the other guys who dumped me after huge fights over insignificant things. I was the one who usually started them but w.e. As for a job, I'm still praying.

what you need to realise is that your god cant just make things appear for you because you selfishly cant work and earn them yourself
a car, house or love doesnt just magjically appear out of nowere
these are things yopu work hard for,
and earn money from so you can BUY a car or house
and love is something you need to look for,
and when you find someone you like, tell them
dont just expect your god to tell them and then make them like you
the world doesnt work that way
if you want something, tou need to get it, and you need to earn it
it doesnt just appear out of nowere because you asked for it

Answered by cassieo on Feb 12, 2009, 11:54PM

why not try just talking to God, without asking for Him for anything,

Have you ever had a friend, who only called you or visited you, when they wanted something from you, but the rest of the time, you never hear from them? Wouldn't you much rather know, that the reason they came by or called, was simply because they cared about you, and wanted to know how you are doing? To know that YOU are more important to them them your things or what you can give them or do for them?

Well, it's the same with God. He loves you and cares about you, and wants you to have nice things, but most of all, He wants a relationship, and to know that when you pray, it's because you love Him, and want to be close to Him, not because you want Him to give you a car or things.

Just get honest with God, and talk to Him, like you would your Best Friend,

Seek the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness first, and all these things will be added unto you

lol. great story. it sounds like you are making fun of religion. but the thing is if god granted everyones whim and want. this world wouldnt exist. people like you just sound like you wont have a life after all. so keep praying. and pray for forgiveness for being a selfish selfless person. maybe then you get some rewards.

You can't count on god (or 'a' god, take it as you will) to solve your problems for you. Religion is based on faith, which is belief in something to which there is no proof. God hasn't answered anyone else's prayers before, so why should he answer yours now?

If you want these changes in your life to occur, you neet to get stronger. Mentally. You cant count on some being in the sky, for which there is no proof, to make changes for you. That is mentally a weak way of thinking, and you will fail in life continually if you keep thinking this way. If you were kicked out of school for drug use or bad grades, do you think god could magically make the drugs dissappear or change that F to an A? if you didn't study for tests of get help for your addiction, that your fault, and yours alone. Its no wonder you got kicked out. You need to strengthen your resolve and achieve your goals by yourself. 'God' isnt going to help you, and you should have figured that one out by now.

Have you thought about getting to know God, first, before asking for stuff?

He inspired a book called the bible, and in it are the instructions that he gave to mankind.

You will be amaxed at what you find there.

If you go to a Christian bookstore, they have many diff. versions that are very easy to read and understand.

Maybe it is time to learn about who and what God really is all about?

BTW... the one prayer that he did answer, is really very representative of his character, which is one of love, mercy and forgiveness, toward his human family.

How about this, pray God please help me to understand you, your word and your ways, then, read a chapter a day from the bible, asking him to help you understand it.

Being part of a church fellowship will help you gain understanding also.

God bless..
