How can we draw closer to God's heart? As a Christian, it should be our desire to become more like God, know Him more, and be closer to Him.
Having a real relationship with God is like nothing else in the world. Our Creator of our world wants to draw closer to you, and loves to be in fellowship with you. That is why Jesus shed His blood on Calvary, so we can speak to God without having to go into a tabernacle, and our sins can be forgiven without going to a priest. What a blessing!! Having a relationship with God grows our faith in God, and grows our love for Him. You might have the head knowledge of the Scriptures and things you're taught in church, but if you don't really know God personally, you are missing out big time! And I don't mean the 5-minute short, fast said prayers. I mean a daily, humble fellowship just with you and God: Pouring your heart to Him, praying for others, worshiping His name.
If you never spent time with your friends, you'd never know much about them. Same thing goes with God. You've got to spend time with Him to really know Him.
Spending time with God on a daily basis takes discipline. It's something you have to make a priority in your life. You may have to get up earlier than your normally do-but don't let that slow you down! Give your heart to the Lord, and make it an real effort to come into His presence every single day. He's done so much for us-tell Him how thankful you are!

James 4:8--Draw nigh to God, and He will draw nigh to you...

This verse above is the key to becoming closer to God. You have to make an effort to draw close to Him, and He will draw near to you.

Sorry I am a Hindu Believer..

I was raised in a strict religious home...but one thhing that helps me feel closer to god is lisining to a local F.M christian station
like in maryand there is this grate station 91.9 they are family friendly and the music is so inspiring..I feel like God is right next to me when I isten..and just feeel reassured that he is with me and that makes you feel like you can ask for anything and guidence and what not. I don't know if that will work for u.
you should listen to it online if you can

radio is ok...but through praying and reading the bible is better.the only thing you can do is thank god for all your blessings and just praise him. Like friends tell me, just talk to God like he's your friend...it's not always gonna be OH dear Lord blah blah blah...you can be like God today is the best day ever lol brb.

And to help out friends I would compare my experiences with them and explain how God god helped me through this situation.

Wonderful answer etyhvh... and I totally agree !!! All I would like to add to what you have already written is to get to know God, thru the scriptures also, that way, you will know his nature, and his word, and it will protec t you from being deceived, in any way.

Being part of a loving, caring fellowship is also important, as we are not islands...God created us for community...
