Vomitting blood is often a sign of a serious illness. However it's not TB as rashelle suggested (that causes COUGHING up blood)
It is most commonly from bleeding in your upper gastrointestinal tract (mouth, esophagus, stomach and upper small intestine), from peptc ulcers (which can be life threathening if they rupture), or torn blood vessels. If you feel dizzy after standing, have rapid shallow breathing, or other signs of shock call 999/911. If you don't then get yourself to the hospital immediately.
It can also be caused by medicines like asprin and NSAIDs (Paracetemol, Ibroprofen are the most common).
Hope this helps x
