Getting toned

I am 5'11'' andi weigh about 170lbs. I would like to loose weight and I would like to tone my body!! is there anyone out there that could help me out or give me any advice?

I highly reccommend the "Abs Diet" it is advocated strongly by both the Men's Health Magazine and the Women's Health Magazine( which I also highly reccommend.)

It has a healthy meal plan in it. You can stick to the same basic foods that you eat but changing them a little. Eating whole grains is one of the most important. And cutting out pork, eating extra lean ground beef etc. The book goes into great detail, even a "if you go to this fast food restaurant, this is the healthiest thing on their menu" -which may surprise you.

Then there is an exercise plan. With a small weight set (you can get a walmart for about $30) and an exercise ball (runs about $5 to $20, also at walmart) you can do the home variations of all the exercises.

I stopped doing the exercises for a while and just picked it back up again. After only 3 workouts I have notice a change in my butt, the muscle is more toned! For every pound of muscle you gain, you burn up to 50 more calories a day!
