Getting my lip pierced like this, does it hurt and.. ?

Does it hurt getting your lip done like in the picture. :S I don't mind pain, and I'm getting mine done like this in the summer holidays, but my mums friend got it done in her 'younger' years and she got it where it goes through the lip and hers rubbed...

on the teeth and cracked her tooth, and ruined her gums, why did this happen ?

And how what the advantges of getting this done, 'cause I really want to convience me mum and how much would it cost ?

no it doesn't hurt a lot ... its a small amount of pain but it depends how well you can handle pain from needles

it hurts as bad as getting your ear done.. not that much.
when you eat try and poke you lip out. like your pouting. it helps.
Advantage: its hott and looks good, its a classic so itll never go out of style, and its fun to do stuff with like , biting it and stuff. it happens. :P

does it hhurt? it dependson your pain tolerance but yes, getting a hole peirced through your flesh is going to hurt to some degree

its a different kind of lip peircing though because this one goes through the middle of your lip, instead of through the back of it

why did your mums friend teeth/gums get ruined? because a lip peircing, especially in this place is going to be rubbing on and scratching your teeth
after years of this it eventually wears them down a bit and can crack them, if its constantly rubbing on your gunms it will also ruin them

advantages? there are no advantages really, the only advantage is if you really wantit and its a form of self expression then youll be happy with what you got and why you got it
if its just to look cool because everyone else has one, because you want to show it off, ect, then those are stupid reasons to get a peircing
the only advantage is you getting it because you want to
because a peircing is not an accessory or toy, its a wound

how much is it? lip peircings cost an average of $50
but the price varies
if they place charges less than $30 or more than $70 I wouldnt think there very profesional

other things to know...
the longer you have it in the less chance it will have of closing up
if you have it in for years, your skin will have healed around the peircing and the hole will never close up fully so youll always be left with a noticable scar/indent in both your lower lip and on your lip
so think about that too
also if your school has a dress code they wont allow it
and most jobs consider facial peircings unattractive and unprofesional
