Wow I was realy having a senior time. I think there more honest gay people today , they are more open about it because changing social acceptance at least here in
The USA. Other countries with different social structures may feel differently.
The answer to the second question is more complex. Almost as much so as, chicken or egg and heaven and hell, if you allow for the posibility of pergatory.
Thanks for making me think
Gino
Yes, homosexuality is a sin. Leviticus 18:22 reads, 'Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.' That is stated as plainly and clearly as you can get. The Bible commands us that we are not to have intercourse with people of our same sex. It is not only a sexual sin, but it is an abomination (something that is impure and illicit in God's eyes).
The verse does not say that homosexuality is okay if you are in a loving, committed relationship. It states that you shall not do it, period! We find a similar verse in Leviticus 20:13. It reads, 'If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.'
The earliest account of homosexuals can be found in the book of Genesis, Chapter 19. The place was the towns of Sodom and Gomorrah. Similar to our time today, Sodom and Gomorrah were places where all kinds of sexual habits were practiced. The people of that place had turned their backs on God's laws and did whatever their wicked minds told them to do. God eventually destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah for their wicked ways.
Are you going to believe the world and continue thinking that homosexuality is perfectly okay, or are you going to believe the One who created you?
Romans 1:24-28, 'Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonor their own bodies between themselves, who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: and likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the women, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly (shameful), and receiving in themselves the recompense of their error which was meet. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient.'
Here the Bible shows us that homosexuality is defined as something that is unclean, a dishonoring of the body, a vile passion, something that is against nature and unnatural, shameful, something that occurs when you have a mind that has sunken to a place away from God. It is an act that people engage in when they do not retain God in their knowledge and when they have changed the truth of God for a lie.
So yes I believe it is immoral because God says so and He is the one who created me.
But I believe God loves us and if we repent, turning from what our flesh seems to want to what He says is right, then He will forgive us our sins and give us new desires.
I personally think that being gay straight or bi is no big deal like I'm bi myself and I see nothing wrong with being who you feel and desire to be and to the comment above if god apparently loves each and every one of us then he should love each and every one of us for who we truely are and if we truely like a bit of same sex lovin then god should except that fact and who is god to tell us how we should live ours lives and god shouldnt critise those who are gay or bi and call us sin when there are far worse people out there like molesters rapest and murderers they are the ones who have sinned not gay or bis SAME SEX LOVIN FOR LIFE!!!
Dear dolce84,
Since we now know that our sexual preferences are biological such as the colour of our eyes are we as a society are starting to understand and rethink our past stigmas we have placed on sexual preferences in particular. This is really important when we deal with this on a psychological level. In the previous centuries homosexuality was just as prevalent but was kept quiet. Since we have the means now to do longterm studies we find that divorce being so high at over 50% is partly due to one of the partners not being true to their preferences because of past social stigmas. With several states and several provinces in CA starting to accept and marry gay couples it has predicted we will see a decline in divorce, domestic violence and even projections have been made in children's behaviours. Meaning that when children are raised in a more loving and tolerant family we see less drug use, less promiscuity etc. We truly are living in a time where we will see much change and less suicides due to the intolerance of society.
#1: There are no more gays today then yesterday and yes, we are being more open and honest about it...we are saving lives now :-)
#2: I believe we fit into one...but keeping with the comparison to eyes some people have blue and a brown eye.
#3: I don't believe we are little bi...but some are confused about different types of love.
#4: Of course not...God doesn't make mistakes!
#5: No, not I don't think it's a myth...no more than homosexuality is.
Sue...good luck
Yes to the first three and no to the last two. Great questions though.
Best to you
Gino
Ups I didn't mean that.
Yes to all but the last one.
It is not only imoral, it is illigal in some states and for sure is considered as sin as is held by most established and recognized religions.
Thanks for letting me clear that up.
Gino
Shoot, I'm going back to bed and start this day over.
Yes to #1, 2, 3 and 5. No to #4.
Sorry again. Not that I have changed my mind it was that I was totally mindless. Blame it on age.
Thanks
Gino
Gino:
It's ok. I have those moments. However, the first two questions really have two choices. Which do you say yes to?
*Are there more gay people in modern times or is sexuality merely more open?
I think, yes. However there were homosexual people all the time.
*Are the terms gay, straight and bi social constructions or do people really fit into one of the three?
Yes, a person usually fits into one of these classes, but time to time they change their habit.
*Is everyone a little bi?
I do not think so, but this is true for many people.
*Is homosexuality immoral?
In simple case it is not. But if they want to influence the society to shift into the gay direction, then yes.
*Is heterosexuality a myth?
Not. That is a fact. The nature favors the heterosexuality.
I am bi, but I don't believe everyone else is. People following 'Christian morality' are insane.
Ladysyrah, where do you get off saying that people who follow Christian morality are insane? It's no more insane than believing in reincarnation, a god who is both lover and son to the goddess, or believing that you can actually tell someone's future with rocks or cards.
If you don't want hate to be spread onto you, don't spread it onto others. Everyone believes something slightly different, and it doesn't make them 'insane.'
Back in the day, there was no such thing as gay. People just didn't think or talk about that stuff. People have the ability to recognize someone of their own sex as attractive, but I don't know whether that makes them bi, even a little. Heterosexuality is not a myth, and being gay is perfectly natural. Everyone does fit into one of those categories.

What are your opinions on these sexuality issues?
Send me Fun Mail
I'd like to know people's opinions on the issue of sexuality.
