Seiously, no you don't need to eat a bunch of junk, but every once in awhile.
you probably just have a very fast metabolism. Does anyone in the rest of the family have any other health issue other than the anemia!?
I know exactly how you feel as I have been the exact same way my entire life. I am the same ht and weighed about the same as you do when I was your age and probably up until I was about 25. When I became pregnant with my daughter, I was 30 years old and weighed 98 pounds. My OB told me at my first appt that normally she would tell her moms to gain about 30#, but since I was under weight she wanted me to gain 40#. I laughed and told her she would be lucky if I gained 5. When I went into labor I weighed 138#, EXACTLY 40#!!! Lok
Anyway, if you are eating right and eating things that promote red blood cell production (red meat...good) and items high in iron (greens, broccol, again red meat) you should be relatively healthy at the wt you are at. But if your frequent dinner companions are Wendy, MickeyD..and the Burger King ( who met Jack in the box at Carls,Jr ,s place) then you may want to take a look at changing your diet. You need to speak to your Dr as well and let them know that you would really like to gain some wt and to do bloodwork, although if there is a family history of thin women and anemia then he's probably already got his eye on it.
Keep your diet healthy and avoid empty calories like soda, chips, candy, etx. They provide no nutritiomal value and the high from the sugar ends up in a crash and burn catastrophe. Sugar rush=crash after
You can take to eating more meals with snacks in between and eating before you go to bed may help you gain some. Don't eat a lot or you may end up with reflux and not rest very well. Bit something...I always gave my daughter a bowl of oatmeal or cereal before bed...sometilmes frozen waffles.
The best thing you can really do is talk to your doc and have him refer you to a nutritiomist who can help you work our a plan to help you gain weight.
