...in the meantime, 99% of people who ask questions *don't* use the member search (upper right) to find people near them, etc, narrow by gender...
...which, given our size is still small (eg, 180K people) if your friend signs up and they live near you, it'd be very fast to find them. But yes, point taken and it's on the must improve list.
