Fun nintendo ds games

I am getting a DS lite for Christmas from my parents, and have been asked for a list of games I might like too. So I need some advice on what sort of games are the best, which are the most enjoyable, what the high-points and low-points of others.

enjoy puzzle games (especially Brain Trainer) and simulation games such as SIMs. I also enjoyed Harvest Moon but found the game play very slow and thus slightly dull. I already have Professor Layton and the Curious Village on my list, but can you recommend others in these genres I might enjoy?
