How can I get my personal ids back?

A while ago I had my wallet in my pocket and it was taken to the cleaners. I later discovered that it was missing. The cleaners said they didn't have it. This is when my aggravation began. All of my information was in there. The most important pieces were my Photo ID and my social security card. Even though the License had expired it was still proof of identification. During that time I was going through a bad transition in my life with family. Things began to spiral out of control. At this point, I was just going day by day. Nevertheless I have tried calling Social Security to see what I can do. It’s almost impossible to get one without the other. The only IDs I have are very old with no date on it. It’s a check cashing card from a long, long time ago. I have a birth certificate, however. I don’t know if DMV can at least give me a copy or something of my ID from their system to help me get my new Social Security card. I had a Mass and New Jersey license. I am so frustrated. There's so much I need and want to do, but I am lost without all of this information. Can someone please give me some advice on what to do? I feel like I don’t exist.

Hi!

I lost my wallet a few months ago--it was horrible and I know exactly how you feel.

I live in Florida, so your state may be different, but I was able to order a replacement Drivers License through the internet, for $15. I used my credit card over the phone (of course, this is AFTER I'd called all of my credit card companies and told them about the lost wallet -- they canceled my accounts and sent me new cards within days.)

Now you said you had a Massachusetts AND New Jersey license?

Massachusetts- Tells you how to get a replacement ID online here: http://www.mass.gov/...

New Jersey- Tells you how to get a replacement ID online here:
http://www.state.nj....

Once you get the ID, you should be able to get a new SS Card by going to the Social Security Office.

Good luck.

Can I have a driver license from more than one state?
No. By federal law, it's illegal for motor vehicle drivers to possess more than one license, and you may have a license only from your state of legal residence.
If you have licenses from other states, you must turn them in. All the states share information and if you are found to have licenses from more than one state, you might end up with a $5,000 fine or even jail time. Since your this same law applys to any type of licence.
Want to attack me again? read up on the real ID Act. . . Ask you local DPS or Sheriff's department. . . . Have some facts before you junp down my throat.
