Friends wanting to kill themselves

Horse Asked by prettysoutherngal about 1 year ago, 3 answers.

Kay I've had this problem twice so far. I got lucky I think that I saved them... One a guy totally told her off who was one of her closest friends and she thought everyone hated her but I had to tell her no one did and I told her to do all the stuff...

which cheered her up (literally I knew it all) and she did and she thanked me and said I saved her...

And recently ones boyfriend of 2 years who she loved dumpe her and she was going to but I went to her house instead. She lived close to me so it was ok... I kinda ended up holding her and talking it out with her.

What can I do in situations like this if thye ever happen again? Because I have some friends that I think are headed down that path... And I want to be prepared if im ever in this situation again

It sounds like you know exactly what to do. Just be there for them and talk to them. Tell them that you will always be there and they don't need to do that. Tell them it won't solve anything. Let them know that they will never get to be married, have kids, have a house of their own, accomplish things in life if they do that. There might be a time when you can't save them, but just know that you did the right thing and it wasn't your fault whatsoever!

The best thing you can do is to comfort them. I've had friends do that before. It scares the crap out of me but when you go through that you have to be supportive. Tell them what needs to told. Explain how life without them would be. Tell them the truth and comfort them. The simple things you say can make a huge difference.
