Why do friends always let you down?

so this is a ? that I have had expeirence in WHY IS THAT THE PEOPLE WHO SUPPOSELY CARE FOR YOU LET YOU DOWN??? I dont have a lot of friends and the ones I do have I would do anything for so why do friends treat me like sh(**.. I dont do anything wrong.. guess that I have finally gotten to that point...

Sometimes we dont realize the things we are doing unless we ask.
Sometimes we're doing nothing, and people are simply just mean, or are in a bad mood and take it out on us. If thats the case, they arent the very best of friends. But if its not like that at all, maybe you should try talking to them about how you feel. A friend is supposed to listen right?

same goes! I would walk the earth for them and they dont even ask how things are going in my life I guess you need to show kindess to the unkind...they need it the most!

I agree friends are suppose to listen..
I dont like contratation I dont know if I spelled that right.
here is the short story I have two friends one is my boyfriend suppposely and other is a good friend and they have both told me something they were going to do but did it happen nope it seems like they dont care bout me...
they were going to take me out for my birthday but they didnt

Respect is earned, not given unfortunately. It is about personal boundaries, if you let people walk all over you, they will.

It is about boundaries. I agree! that is perfectly put. actually. These 'friends' probably know you dont like confrontation and so they will continue to treat you as so. You have to confront people if you want them to change, otherwise you will always be on the backburner.

If you're having a real problem with this, try talking to them. It'll help a lot. They'll finally realize what they've been doing and will hopefully change it.

Ask yourself - would a true friend treat me like this ? - if the answer is no, realize they're not friends - don't tolerate, get new ones...Take care !!

only thing is I seriously have 3 friends and for the people who are like me you really dont want to loose them because you dont have anyone else to fall back on type thing

People are not perfect and sometimes we make mistakes that we later regret. It is also very hard for people to trust people, that is why I don't have many friends. To be a friend you have to forgive and forget, which is another reason I don't have many friends I tend to hold a grudge. To be a friend you also have to trust them and that is another reason I don't have more friends than I do, I find it hard to trust anyone because I have been hurt so many times by so called friends.

Ditto viper. In my almost 58 years of life I have 3 people I call friends, the rest are just people I associate with once in a while. To me a friend is family that I pick.

I love my friends to bits and they would do anything for me I have three best m8s and even thou we are still as close as ever they were the ones who told my school that I 'deliberately dont eat' x
