How can I make sure we're close?

My friend and I were really close and we use to tell each other everything and my friend and I would crush on each other but watever happen we still would be friends and have no argues and since dis summer he been acting so werid and we wont really talk or be as close as we should to be. Also, he still looks at me and trys to talk to me but I think he holds back and he recently really like me but I would not and now like have some feelings which are stuck between care and crush but I dont know what to do as well one of his friends told me he and dis other girl liked each other but the girl said no and plus he still looks at me and show those actions that he use to show when he liked me. All I want is for us to be friends like before but how can I do that and from a guy and girl point wats going on that I havent notice.lol. I think you should talk to him about going out. definetley. if you guys were friends for so long then theres no reason why this relationship wouldnt work. try it out. like you said you guys have always been friends no matter what right?
