Friend thoughts of suicide

My friend has been having thoughts of suicide and has recently been saying that she wants to cut herself, etc. She told me that other day that she didn't feel like being here on this earth anymore. She is upset because she is in this terrible situation with her 'boyfriend' currently.
I'm not sure what do do about this. Because I don't want to see her next and she has cut herself or never see her again.
help. please.

You must alert her parents immediately. Perhaps she may be upset with you that you do but you may be saving her life. When someone threatens suicide you take them very seriously and by them telling you this they are (even if you don't want it) giving you responsibility in helping them. So you have to tell and tell now. You would never forgive yourself if you didn't. She may also tell you that she was just kidding...no, no do not believe this, this is actually when they may do it. So if you like it or not she has put you in a position of responsibility and now you must get her help.

Exactly, tell her parents, because they are the only ones who should have a major factor with the decision is is conspiring to make, if you want to really help her , you will tell her parents, she may be mad, but it is only for the best, anyways, good luck, and I hope everything works out great for you.. good luck. :]

Just try your best to be there for her and remind her about how much she means to you and everyone else. I've had thoughts like that and my friends stayed by me and I got through it.
