You go to your profile and on the left side of the page click the my Friends option. On that page it allows you to delete anyone you'd like to. 
Also, if you would like to have control who gets accepted to be your friend. You can go into your settings and change it so you are prompted to accept people who add you, as appose to them automatically becoming your friend.
