Im going into 9th grade next year. Its going to be my first year of highschool. I'm super nervous. I've had the same group of friends for three years and know highschool brings change. Im freaked out to have to make new friends. Any advice to make...

I promise you that everyone will be nervous. My freshman year last year sucked, to be brutally honest. All my friends changed to fit in, and I never did. Just be friendly and DON'T make enemys. Get into a club, sport or something. Getting involved with something at your highschool can help you make friends easier because you have stuff in common, you'll do fineee(:

umm well I started with my first first group of friends in middle school by making compliments. compliment an outfit or maybe how they play a sport or how they draw and start a convo that way. there probably will be some friendly people who will talkk 2 u.

you may or may not have the same friends depending on interests or as your growing, whether you guys stay the same people. middle school alone brought drama and I had so many on and off friends. because people are going 2 seperate into different ways at the end of HS, everyone is starting 2 indulge in their hobbies and join more clubs and sports.(which is another way 2 make friends)

lol, I was the same way. Except I was moving back to my old school that I moved away from four years before. And I changed a lot. lol,
but here's some key tips (:

*don't be shy, but don't be way out there.
*SPORTS! helpful, helpful helpful!
*Be nice to the older people.
*STAY OUT OF DRAMA AND DON'T RUN YOUR MOUTH!
not good !
-Highschool is basically nothing but drama.
*Oh, and watch the guys, a lot of them have girls already, and/or have stalkers that would probably try beating the sh_t out of you.

lol, hope they help (:

Oh, and you can't impress everybody, you'll have lovers, haters, trashtalkers, +

MY BEST ADVISE FOR YOU IS... DONT JUDGE OTHERS!! SERIOUSLY DURING THOSE FOUR YEARS PEOPLE CHANGE SO MUCH AND YOU DONT WANT TO BE THAT PERSON SOMEONE WONT HANG OUT WITH BECAUSE OF SOMETHING THAT HAPPENED 3 YEARS EARLIER... SO MAKE FRIENDS AND HANG OUT WITH WHOEVER YOU LIKE NOT WHOEVER OTHER PEOPLE LIKE... THATS WHAT I WISH SOMEONE WOULD HAVE TOLD ME..

Ha ha. Well, I'm going into ninth grade too. happy Really, I have something that most would kill to have: older friends. I don't mean older friends in high school, although I do have those also. I mean, I had a teacher in 8th grade that I stayed in touch with and hung out with all summer. We are now friends and it's so great to be able to call her or get together with her and spill all my problems to someone with experience in being a teenager. She's 34 years old, and people may think it's weird (and trust me, they do), but really, she's just like a big kid. Lol. We like the same things, have the same interests, so why not be friends? Lmao. She even tries to set me up with some guys that she's had as students before (some are a few years older) because she says the boys my age are way to immature for me. She finds my love life fascinating. Lmao. Friendship doesn't come from the mind, which knows age, but from the heart, which knows no age. So don't be afraid to try to make friends with older people. happy They've got all of this life experience behind them, not to mention you'll most likely be life-long friends.

Hope this helps:

Don't be shy! This is easier said than done for many people but it is essential. Even if you are painfully shy by nature you are in a new environment and nobody at your new school know about your shyness. So put on a big smile and start out by being friendly to everybody you see.
Introduce yourself to people when you find a seat in class. Sit down in a place where you feel comfortable (yes, the back of the class is OK) and make a point if saying hello to the people sitting near. A good opening line; Hi, my name is Joe and I'm new here. Do you know, is this teacher any good?
Find your niche group. Look for the type of people you were friends with in your old school and approach them. Ask if you can join them for lunch or during class look to pair up with somebody from that group. Believe it or not the majority of teens are more than happy to make a new friend.
Join a club or a team. This is the easiest way to meet people at a new school (or meet new people at your old school) because while being an organized event it is in a much more casual setting than the classroom. You get a chance to spend time with peers who have similar interests to yours and you get to bond with them in a more laid back environment.
Don't be afraid to stand out. If you are good at a certain sport or do well in a certain subject don't be afraid to strut yourself. People are drawn to people with talent and stifling yours to avoid being a show-off will only end up hurting you. So if you have a special talent or skill make it known.
Be mindful of prosocial norms at your school. This simply means try to fit in by observing the positive norms at your school. If your new school is a big football school become a fan. If your school is more academically inclined join a study group. Find out what makes your school tick and join in the fun.

Have a great year !!
