Freshman girl, sophomore guy

Im a sophomore guy at my high school and just moved to the area the year before. I know most of the people in my grade pretty well along with the classes ahead of me, they know me better than I know myself ironically due to football and other sports. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I don't really know the Freshman this year very well and I really like this Freshman girl in one of my classes and we see each other in the hall sometimes. I have a confidence problem because I strive to have everybody like me and I have had several bad relationships and a slight confidence problem. I'm curious how would you suggest asking her out in a non intrusive way that wouldn't be to embarrassing for me or her.

ask her like if she would want to see a movie on _____ night, or something like that
