What are your favorite freeware applications? I really enjoy snippy/find my credit card/convert...and others

I was concerned about Filezilla because it reminded me of a spyware program but checked it out and it is cool. I will keep it in mind if I need an FTP program beyond my free trial I just got from SmartFTP - which so far does just wonderful. Fast and easy enough for even me to use!

I also recommend AdwareSE Personal to get rid of all your spyware stuff off your computer. Another one that is Fast, easy, and it even updates itself.

I like Netscape. Always have for a browse and email.

Webshots is cool to host your photos online. They allow quite a few uploaded for free in photo folders to share on line with friends and family. They give you lots of pictures to choose from that you can save to your hard drive for their free wallpaper/screensaver software too.

Bearshare - you always have to run adware after you run the free version of it, but you can get all kinds of files from it - not just music but any file. Great for getting batch or exe or drivers etc.

Filezilla / transfers files via FTP for free.
Mozilla Firefox - imho, best web browser out there.
putty - freeware application to do SSH TTSSH Teleterm (spelling?) for command line access to a web server.
Google talk - the best of the three major IM clients, handy to chat keep in touch with coworkers partners when working remotely.

Firefox Hands down. Version 2 if fantastic with built in spell checking of forms.

FileZilla and Mozilla Firefox, they're both open source software.
