Where can I find a free video editing software?

I want to know if there is a site that lets you download video editing software for free. I mean im willing to go out and buy it but first I want to see if theres any free stuff and not the ones that are like 30 day trials. thanks

If you check out this link, it lists/describes many different video editing programs. Some are free, but some do cost some money. In my experience with "free" programs, many of them lack full capability, have watermarks, or only allow you a trial. I would just test a few of them and pay for the one you like.
