Free tibet and boycott bejing olympics?

the beatles Asked by iamcool 4 months ago, 5 answers.

Who here is against the bejing olympics due to the treatment of tibetans by the chinese? I am, so I'm not buying, watching or taking part in anything to do with the event. Who agrees?

Tibet always belong to China, one part of China. It's the civil affairs of Chinese.

There is nothing to do with you.

Agreed with amoeba, any country that hosts the Olympics stands to make millions and it will be no different for China even if some people decide to boycott. Hit them where they butter their bread, by boycotting their cheaply and poorly made export products currently flooding the world market.

Besides, I thought the point of the Olympics was to put aside politics just for a few days and focus on the athletic competition of people from all around the world. Why use the Olympics as a political tool? It degrades the games just as much as the athletes themselves cheating.

I disagree and I share the same views as mjax 1973.
Olympics is solely for athletic competition. Not for politics. There are numerous athletes that work their rears off for the Olympics. In addition, many have dreamed of participating in that huge event and for them to boycott it is very unfair to them.
