I'm not really sure about how to actually edit the sims 2 hair, but I do know how to get you set up and stuff...
1. you need a paint program such as photoshop. if you don't have photoshop then download a free paint program called g.I.m.p (thats what I use)
2. you go into your sims 2 body shop and click on 'create parts' and then click on 'start new project' then 'create genetics' then choose the hair style you want to edit.
3. once you found the hairstyle you want to edit, select it and then click on 'export selected textures' and give it a project name.
4. now open up your painting program. go to 'file' then 'open' and then find your EA games folder (this will usually be in your mydocuments) then go into the sims 2 folder and then into the projects folder. find the file by the project name and open it.
so yeah I'm not really sure about how to actually edit the hair... but if you need any more help then go to the website below.
