For all religions...

meeee! without glasses... Asked by mesinger 11 months ago, 28 answers.

Why is it that Christians and Catholics dislike Wiccans or pagans?

Just very curious and want to learn.

You mean tell people to love each other and forgive them? There are dozens of philosophies and ethical systems throughout the world saying that. So I guess the real question is, what makes YOU think that many men-and women-haven't already told us to do that?

Because somewhere in the Bible it says that you should abolish all other faiths, I have yet to find where it says that you should abolish the believers of that other faith too

Well, Wiccan's in the eyes of Christians are nothing more than witches really, dark rituals and so forth, they see it as evil. It's a different story with Catholics, Christians think that all Catholicism is, is Christianity with rules that are strict, It's not so much of a love/hate relationship with the two, but some members hate each other direly.

Honestly, if they all got a long, what would be the argument for attracting new members, it's all a giant brainwashing scheme anyways, the biggest one in the history of the world, without some reason to HATE all other religions they have no argument for themselves being the best, if every different religious group got along, it would seem they are all the same, may as well pick the one with the coolest name.

Hope I helped...

Well it all stems from one belief. That if something isn't of God than its of the devil. No middle ground. No choice not to believe. Since wicca worships something other than their God than to them its of the devil. The rest is propaganda aginst wicca

Because not all Christians understand other beliefs and therefore they judge. A lot of them think that Wiccan's etc have to do with Satanism and so on which is so not true, they don't bother to take the time to try and understand and accept that other people might also differ from them. They really give the rest of use a bad name.

Also I see that you seem to differentiate between Christians and Catholics, Catholics is just another form of Christianity. :-)

A Christian is to hate the sin as their Savior does but Love the person - treat them as they would want to be treated and share the Good News with them, Merry Christmas !!

akumo, you speak of dark rituals. isnt eating the body and drinkin the blood of someone, even metaphorically, pretty much as dark as rituals come. I am unfortunately not knowledgeable enough on pagan religions to give a valid reason as to why christianity has so much against them. but im pretty sure it must have somethin to do with the claim that christianity itself stems from pagan religions.

Not all Christians are like that, and not all of them hate different religions. I have many friends with many different relgious beliefs and we all get along and not a single person has hate for the other.

The problem with most Christians is that most of them fear what they don't understand or that they have been brainwashed to believe things that are not true. Most of them think that wicca involves worshiping the devil and casting evil spells on people, when that couldn't be any furthur from the truth.

That's not the case...a FEW Christians may fear what they don't understand, but MOST of them have taken an attitude of tolerance...

Exactly which is why I am confused. I am Wiccan too.

However, I understand that many fear the unknown.

Christians oppose Wicca and other forms of neo-paganism for the same reasons as the people who wrote the my god vs. your god stories that fill the Old Testament of the Bible.

I agree with Amblessed... God tells us to hate the sin, but, love the sinner. And he did not specify which sin... or which sinner... so...that means all, and that includes child molestors.

This does not mean, that it is right to molest a child, far from it, in fact, it is extremely evil, and dispicable, however, to follow in our Lords footsteps... we have to reach out in love, to whosoever will.

If we want to be forgiven, we have to forgive.

Again, that does not mean to turn a child molestor loose... he/she is to be dealt with thru the power of the law, that is why God gave us the law, to deal with those who are disobedient, and a threat to society, however, as a Christian... we are expected to reach the very worst of sinners... with love.

That... is a tall order.

And for those who doubt the existance of God... please tell me, why you think that any man... would tell us to do this??? if not God??
