Hummus:: a paste of pureed chickpeas usually mixed with sesame oil or sesame paste and eaten as a dip or sandwich spread

Dear ahillman810,
Hummis is spelled many different ways, but is a healthy treat of chickpea paste, olive oil, garlic, and lemon juice.
Hummis has a very low glycemix index - 6. For 2 tablespoons of hummis, depending on the brand, you typically get 5g of carbs with 1g of that being sugar. That ends up being 4g of net carbs. While you shouldn't guzzle this stuff down by the vat-load, it is PERFECT for putting on celery sticks.
