Here are some ways of treating the symptoms of illnesses:
Paracetamol is good for bringing down a temperature. Chicken soup is good for fevers and bringing back strength. Pineapple juice is good for relieving problems such as constipation. Water is good for flushing out any bladder infections. Pure orange juice has plenty of vitamin C (as well as foods like strawberry or broccoli). If you feel unwell make sure to rest until you're feeling better. If you break out in a sweat change into something fresh, as sitting in damp clothes or pyjamas with the flu could lead to something much worse. Also, hygiene is very important when you are unwell. If you feel cold, a hot water bottle or blankets should help. If you feel warm, use cold and damp face cloths to keep yourself cool and use ice cubes in your drinks to help cool you down. Try not to do anything that might lead to stress, as this could cause your health (both physical and mental) to worsen. If you are suffering from headaches, darken the room you are in by closing curtains and blinds. Also if you have a headache try not to watch too much TV or use anything with loud noises and bright lights. Take painkillers if necessary. If you are feeling nauseous, the best remedy is to take your mind off it. Listening to music you like is good for motion sickness, also playing a game or reading a book may take your mind off the nausea. If none of this works, sometimes being sick and emptying your stomach helps you to feel better afterwards. If you are dizzy stay seated or lie down until the dizziness passes. Lying down with your eyes closed sometimes helps with dizziness. If you have a sore throat with your flu symptoms, mix hot water with honey for a hot drink. Sometimes ice-cream or iced-lollies are good for sore throats too. If you are feeling VERY ill don't hesitate to get help, because it may have become something more serious.
I hope some of these things will help you to fight serious infections. =o)
